Discolored tap water in the Eastwood area

For the last several days the cold tap has been running brown or rusty in our part of Eastwood, sometimes clearing after a few minutes and sometimes not. A few neighbors see it too. The Water Department mentioned hydrant flushing, but it has gone on longer than expected and people are nervous about drinking it. Asking for a clear answer on whether it is safe and when it clears.
