1. What ZenZ Voice is
ZenZ Voice is a free, citizen-operated platform for reporting and discussing local civic issues, organised by Assembly Constituency. We are an “intermediary” under the Information Technology Act, 2000 (India) and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. We host content posted by users; we do not author it.
2. Who can use the Platform
You may browse the Platform without an account. To post issues, react, or comment, you must create an account. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that:
- The phone number and email address you provide are ones you actually control.
- The information you provide is true to the best of your knowledge.
- You are responsible for keeping your password secure.
3. What you can do
You can:
- Report local issues that you have observed or experienced.
- Co-sign (“Me Too”) issues reported by other citizens.
- Comment on issues and on the manifesto.
- Apply for verified membership in your constituency.
- Optionally use the “Use my location” feature to auto-detect your constituency, instead of picking it manually. See our Privacy Policy for how this works.
- Request that we correct or delete information about you.
4. What you must NOT do
You agree not to use the Platform to post or share content that:
- Is defamatory, threatening, hateful, or harassing toward any person.
- Incites violence, riot, or unlawful activity.
- Reveals the personally identifying information of other private individuals (their name, phone number, address, photo without consent).
- Is obscene, sexually explicit, or harmful to minors.
- Infringes copyright, trademark, or other intellectual-property rights.
- Impersonates another person, organisation, or government body.
- Is deliberately false or misleading (misinformation).
- Is automated, spam, or commercial advertising.
- Is intended to disrupt the operation of the Platform or compromise its security.
We use a mix of automated filters and human moderation to enforce these rules. If your content violates the rules, we may hide it, ask you to explain it, or remove it.
5. How moderation works
New issues you post are published immediately on the Platform (“post-moderation”). A moderator may, at any time, hide a post or ask you for an explanation if there is reason to believe the post is spam, misleading, or violates Section 4 above. If we ask for an explanation, your post is temporarily marked “under review” until you respond. We make every effort to act on grievances within 15 days, in line with the IT Rules, 2021.
6. Membership and identity verification
You may apply to become a “verified member” of your constituency. This involves submitting an identity document and a selfie for human review. Membership is a discretionary status that we may approve, decline, or revoke. Identity documents are stored encrypted and accessible only to authorised reviewers; they are never shown publicly and never shared with third parties except as required by valid legal process.
7. Account suspension and termination
We may suspend or block your account if we determine that you have violated these Terms. We will notify you by email when this happens and tell you the reason. You can appeal a block by replying to that email.
You may delete your account at any time by writing to voicezenz@gmail.com. We will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or where data is needed to defend against an active legal claim.
8. Content ownership
You retain all rights to the content you post. By posting, you grant ZenZ Voice a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display your content on the Platform, in aggregate analytics, and in transparency reports.
9. Disclaimers
The Platform is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee that issues posted will be resolved by any government department or third party. ZenZ Voice is a civic-engagement tool, not a complaint-redress authority.
Statements made by users are their own opinions and not those of ZenZ Voice. We are not liable for content posted by users beyond our obligations as an intermediary under applicable law.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ZenZ Voice and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the homepage and by email to registered users. The date at the top of this page shows when the Terms were last updated.
