Long delays getting benefit applications processed

Several people I know have waited weeks past the normal window to hear back on benefit applications and recertifications, with calls going unanswered. For families counting on this, a month of delay is serious. We are not asking to jump the line, just for the county to address the backlog and phone wait times.
